That Second Wizards Goal. Ouch.
By: Laurie | July 8th, 2007I haven’t managed to sit down and watch the whole game yet, but I’ve seen all the pertinent parts.
What hurt the most to watch was that second Wizards goal. When a team is as trade-happy as the Galaxy, it’s excruciating to watch a horrific, glaring error like Ante Jazic trying to head the ball back to Cannon when he didn’t have the space. Especially since I really like Jazic. He’s not a dramatically outstanding player, but he’s mostly solid. You can almost always count on him. He doesn’t make a lot of dramatically amazing plays, but he doesn’t make a lot of dramatic gaffes either. You usually don’t have to worry about him. Usually.
Yesterday? Oh, ouch. Watching that goal was like physical pain.
What am I grateful for today? I am grateful that solid leftbacks aren’t that easy to find, particularly under the MLS salary cap.
And I’ll bet that Ante is grateful for this also.
