Beckham Out 4-6 Weeks?
By: Laurie | August 30th, 2007
Bad news, folks. From what I’m reading, it looks like a knee sprain, and it looks like it could be another 4-6 weeks of healing time for David Beckham.
“At this stage, it’s hard to tell, but it doesn’t feel good. With a ligament strain, it’s four to six weeks. We’ll have to wait and see,” he said Wednesday. “I’m going to have a scan tomorrow, and we’ll see the full extent of what it is and how long I’ll be out, but at the moment, it doesn’t feel great.”
The gods are not smiling on our team this season.

I knew it…right when it happened, I had this horrible feeling. His face told the story.

Laurie, do me a favor. Put the blame on Yallop and Lalas. They did what no coach and GM should EVER do . . . have their player tell them what to do.
Ray Hudson of American Soccer bought that to light, and he is so right. You guys need a field general. Like Klinsmann

Ahem. I believe Ray Hudson got that from me. http://lagalaxy.theoffside.com/beckhamwatch/so-whos-to-blame-for-the-beckham-injury-cockup.html
Although, come to think of it, it was regular reader Diane who put it in my head. And she may have gotten it from Ray. So…okay, whatever.

No
I got it from having four kids.(Affording me about 55 cumulative years — so far — of telling people that they can NOT in fact go back in, on or to, while hemoraging, during a concussion, until the cast dries, if they can’t make it to the side before vomiting, or when, for any other reason, we are on our way home from the emergency room. I AM available for saying no tutorials).

WAIT!!! I’m not in the player told them what to do camp (whether the player asked or not)! I’m in the negligence and the brass wrecked two exceedingly good legs camp, sad and mad about it too. Look:

Oh, wait, Diane. Me too. Was that what Ray Hudson said? That Beckham called all the shots?
What I think happened is that Beckham did and said what everybody (including himself) wanted to believe — that he was fit to play. And everybody believed it, regardless of physical evidence, because in the short run it seemed to make life easier. And now we’re all paying the price in the long run.
