Somehow I forced myself to stay awake up to the end of the game as it was being showed on FSC. And, as all of you stated - I did not see them showing the penalty kicks. That sucks. Anyways, I am agreeing with "Mag" who states that the englishman, Becks, should be rested. Becks once again was playing all different positions on the field. It is great to see him healthy and playing - but, he needs to be rested. Does anyone else feel that right wing-back is NOT the right position for Chris Klein? Don't get me wrong - I like Chris Klein... he can deliver some exceptional crosses and passes. And, usually his shot-on-goal accuracy is pretty good. But, he just got outmatched by FC Seoul every single time. It was great to see Abel play again. I really like him as a Central Defender. But, as we all know - he also is going to get out-paced by speedy forwards and midfielders. Also, did anyone feel that Mike Randolph seemed rusty? Or at least not of the same quickness, pace, and form as I remember of him from last season? I have to disagree with "Nicole"... I do NOT think Alan Gordon played that great. I believe we have all seen Alan Gordon play exceptionally well a few years back. I still think the effects from his injuries are still there. Yes, I know he was the one who scored for us in the FC Seoul game. But, to me, he still seemed like he was struggling. I will say that I do very much like how Ruud Gullit is approaching our players; Ruud has a plan... the players are either going to get it, accept it, and learn it... or they will have to say "Hasta". Ruud wants players who are physically fit, attentive, smart, and willing to play different positions on the field. Believe me - this is a good thing... especially, once we get into 2008 MLS season, and injuries start to pile up (Lord, I hope we don't have too many injuries in 2008!).

Yeah, I think we should move Klein to right-mid, and Beckham to the center. I don't think the middle will be that bad for Beckham, and he could be like Blanco and move all around the field.

Can Babayaro do good crosses? If so, we'll be able to get a bunch of long passes and have a sweet midfield.

I thought the 1st half they looked good with their passing for the most part, quick. Midfield is becoming solid and when Donovan comes back along with Ruiz, Gordon and Allen looking good in this game, up top should be solid. It's the defense that worries me.

Babayaro and Randolph weren't on the same page, but chemistry willno doubt improve as the weeks go. I'm not sure about Vanney still and Klien, I don't like him back in defense. he's best on the right side roaming where he can make some great long range shots and crosses.

But overall, the improvement is showing in their passing and chemistry and Rudd will make the Galaxy a better team through out the season. We'll have to wait and see how far the other teams have improved.

Looks like Ruud is playing the Dutch 4-3-3, which requires skill at making long accurate passes and controlling them. Except for Becks, the others were inconsistent at hitting their target or the target controlling the pass. Hopefully the success percentage of these passes will improve as there remains time to improve.

Should have been -> A quicker faster central defender (perhaps a "young" Ty Marshall clone) would help immensely.

Although I stated earlier that the Galaxy need lots of work, I am encouraged by what I see. There are a lot of new players, a new coach, and a new system. It will take time for everyone to find their groove. I'm confident they will get better as the weeks progress. However, they do need to shore up the backline somehow. A quicker faster central defender (perhaps a Ty Marshall clone) would help immensely.

I thought Cronin did fine. Babayaro and Randolph were the disappointment. Hopefully it was just because it's their first game together.

I thought Alan Gordon played really well. I hope his injury isn't bad. Ruiz looks good, as well and so does Ely Allen - he can't really finish all that well (his one goal notwithstanding), but he's everywhere!

The team really needs Donovan out there to just make it all work. But I'm encouraged with what I'm seeing. Ruud has a plan of how he wants to play and getting lots of players lots of experience. Ruud is approaching these friendlies exactly how I hoped he would.

I agree about the backline, disagree about Cronin. He looked a lot more self-confident last night than in previous games, and his positioning was a lot better. Aside from the couple of times the defense had to clear the ball off the line because he came out.

Except for Babayaro, the backline along with Cronin sucked last night. Those short. quick Koreans made them look like slugs. Will be a long season.
