Becks and Co. to Play Against Lalas and Co. For Charity.
By: Laurie | October 28th, 2007Well, this is not exactly how or where the guys had hoped to be playing in November, but it’s for a good cause, so that makes it okay. Right?
The Galaxy, apparently including David Beckham, will be squaring off next Sunday, November 4, against Hollywood United at the Home Depot Center. All proceeds will go to the Red Cross and the Salvation Army to benefit victims of the California wiildfires. Tickets are General Admission and the price is $20.
Yes, that Hollywood United. The one that includes players such as:
a collection of luminaries from the film, music and television industries, as well as a number of past soccer legends. Some of the stars expected to take on the Galaxy are actors Anthony LaPaglia, Jimmy Jean-Louis, Costas Mandylor, musicians Steve Jones and Vivian Campbell, former World Cup stars Frank Leboeuf, Richard Gough, Joe-Max Moore, Eric Wynalda, as well as Galaxy President and General Manager Alexi Lalas, Galaxy legend Mauricio Cienfuegos and many more special guests.
So, yes, after this long, hard, painful season, the Galaxy players will at last get to take their shots at GM Alexi Lalas.
Oh, Alexi? You might want to consider wearing a cup. Just a suggestion.

I’m not a Galaxy fan, but I would possibly buy the jersey of whoever takes out Lalas with a studs up tackle…
This could be interesting.

Yeah, they could probably auction it and net more than the entire gate proceeds.

I wish they had done this back when I lived in Pasadena. It would have been a blast to watch.

Frank Leboeuf is teammates with Lalas now? There’s another roast beef joke in there somewhere, calling on Chris…

Glatisant, I had exactly the same thought!
Chris! Oh, Chris! Where are you?

I imagine when Beckypoo will be squaring off against Steve Jones in midfield, he’ll be glad that at least his not-so-better half is having a good time sipping martinis with Katie Holmes.
