This is left over frustration from last year and all the people in the US questioning if he was worth it. At the post match press conference he said that the England issue wasn't any extra pressure because he's been having that kind of review for so long. He basically said that he was focusing on playing his best in the U.S. because so many people had questioned his motives for coming here at this age, and his seriousness about playing here. I'm hoping that after the first couple of matches (and one more agonizing tattoo), and a few choice words from the boss, the tension of waiting close to a year to prove himself will blow off. It would be nice to see the guerrero del caballero ("gentleman warrior" as he was called by a lot of Madrid fans) back along with the knee and ankle. Re tats -- even with 5 spice girls and 3 little boys to keep him company that man CANNOT have a three month layoff from football.
