Galaxy 1-2 Chivas Guadalajara
By: Laurie | July 28th, 2007I tuned into this one on MLSlive.tv (via MLSnet) just as Landon was scoring the goal in the last few minutes. For some reason I hadn’t realized SuperLiga would be shown on MLSnet. (Oops. My bad.)
Oddly, MLSnet showed the live game (which I mostly missed), but doesn’t seem to be showing us how to see the replay on demand. If anybody can give me the MLSnet link to watch the replay of both the Pachuca game and the Chivas game, I’ll be your best friend forever.

I’m not sure about this, but I think you can only watch the game on MLSNet while it is still live.

George, this would kind of suck. I know they have the ability to show it on demand. All they lack is the will. I think I’ll send them a protest e-mail.

I have no idea how MLSNet works, so I guess I have no BFF leverage. If they really are just showing it live, that does indeed suck. You can see RSL games for like a week - why not keep the content that might actually drive some traffic? I think the MLS marketing and promotion guys need a new dartboard, er, business plan.

PS - I hate that my comments don’t have a country. I was so looking forward to that wee little UK flag next to them … weak.

I thought Gray, Kirk, and Pavon looked weak out there! I recognize that Kirk is young and developing though… I was trying to picture who would get on the end of those David Beckham crosses? I don’t see anyone? Donavan maybe?

Ian, at one point you were showing up with a little English flag. I would protest if I were you. Martha gets her little Portuguese flag. You deserve England. Or Scotland. Or whatever.

Oh, right. I forgot that it was the UK flag, which combines elements of England, Scotland, etc… (My son had to do a report on the English flag once.)

You’re showing up as Canada for me, Ian.

Canada? Oh this won’t stand. Not Canada. It’s one thing to not get the Scottish flag - I understand that - we’re not a fully independent country yet … plus there’s the minor point that I am technically now in England, not Scotland. Still. But I will not be branded a Canadian. No offense - Sam - you’re a lovely people and you make fine hockey players and fine soccer fans … but grr.

Ironically Ian is showing up as from New Zealand for me (where I actually am). It also thinks that I’m from Australia, which isn’t a nice thing to do to a Kiwi.

Let’s see. I’m on vacation in Canada now, what flag will I get?

I think the reason for Galaxy’s loss was the lack of key players like Cobi, Martino, Beckham, and Buddle on the field. Without them and Donovan, Galaxy seems to have difficulty creating chances and scoring.
