Landon Donovan Talks About THE ACT in Jalisco
By: Laurie | February 7th, 2008
Okay, so first thing? I’m a mom. I’ve potty trained two boys. So the actual…um…act has no mystique for me whatsoever. When you’re a mom, all that matters is: Outside the Action Figure undies!!!
It was still really, really funny last night to hear Landon Donovan talk about peeing on the pitch in Jalisco. To hear him tell it, he just had to go, he ducked behind the bushes, and…
Well, you know.
But by far the best part of this was the fact that ESPN2 showed the video. Filmed from the right side of the bushes, when Landon was clearly looking left. And the tinkle stream was pixelated, because the real thing would just be way too much for us decent people to handle.
All I can say is this: Mexico fans, as a mom, I would like to say that the trajectory of the (pixelated) stream indicates that it wasn’t a dominance thing.
He really had to go.

Ya, I love how he said he’s done it “thousands of times!” Ummmm, thanks, I’m never walking near the trees at Toronto BMO field again.

When it happens, I’ll be the first to snag it and will post it here for the edification of everybody.
Actually, it may already be up. I just can’t figure out what search string to use.

OK, I proscrastinate at work by going here to read Laurie’s latest and now I have to go home and watch the DVR of the match right away!
Did he do any finger-turf kissin’ as part of the little rain dance or was this really just a legit purging… no, wait, I don’t wanna know that.
Was the dressing room too far away or something? I don’t get this.

OK so it was in training and I’d agree with Laurie, the trajectory is the thing. I no longer hold it against him.

You know, I was thinking about this, and I swear that ESPN had an interview with Lando about this back when the US played Mexico in the Azteca for a World Cup qualifier, I guess in 2005 (I know for sure that the game was on Easter Sunday). I remember the pixellated pee stream.

He’s been a grown up guy long enough to know that you don’t piss in another guy’s back yard without asking. And WHY, btw, does this player feel it CONSTANTLY necessary to pee on other people’s pitches? Hmmmm?
He should save the fresh air and sunshine stream for the HDP…although maybe that wasn’t one of the thousands of grounds?Posted from

I still think it’s funny. And by the way, the bathrooms were closed. Also, he wasn’t the only player to do it that day, just the only one to have it broadcast.
[sarcasm]Oh, and I’m sure LD is the only soccer player in the world to ever pee in the bushes at a soccer field.[/sarcasm]. In fact, there’s video out there of one DaMarcus Beasley urinating at the WORLD CUP in Jonjeu stadium on the sidelin before their World Cup game – full frontal. And I’m sure there’s video of players the world over doing the same thing.
It’s nothing to start a war over.
