Galaxy News: found it on the LA Galaxy blog

"Cronin Suffers Fracture In Hand

Steve Cronin suffered a right hand fracture in Saturday night’s match against New England and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks. With Cronin and Charles Alamo both listed on the Galaxy injury report, Wicks is the only healthy goalkeeper on the roster. As a result, the Galaxy will call up League pool goalkeeper Mike Graczyk for Saturday’s game against Real Salt Lake."

"Three Back From Portland

Bruce Arena has recalled three players from their loan assignments with the Portland Timbers of the USL First Division for a week’s worth of training. Vardan Adzemian, Scott Bolkan and Bryan Jordan were on season-long loan agreements with the Timbers after signing with the Galaxy earlier this season. Jordan is the only one of the three to have played, for either the Galaxy or Timbers, appearing in one game for the Galaxy and nine games with Portland.

Their status for both Portland’s game on Thursday night against Miami and LA’s home game with Real Salt Lake on Saturday will be decided later in the week."

Rhys,

I don't disagree with most of what you say. Mostly I find Vagenas to be an adequate player. However, if you go back and look at the archive, on Saturday his first touch was very very soft, probably the best on the team that day. When he's playing well I can see why his number gets called. The first touch he displayed on Saturday is part of it.

However, there are many games where his touch is not that great. And he's not a creator or even a very good linker from defense to offense. Solid but uninspiring is how I would put it.

Hmmm, your analysis is solid, but Vagenas first touch is far from the best in the league. No doubt he has great skill corraling wayward passes and the odd 50/50, but he's not especially good at putting the ball in an advantageous position with that first touch. Put together, it would be excellent, but with Landon, Beckham, Lewis, Klein, Vanney, even Franklin sometimes, better technically on the ball, he's far from being among the best on the team.

It was a fantastic game to watch, wasn't it? Even if it was archived... The way our LA Galaxy team played against one of the best MLS teams... gosh, it made me proud. I would have never thought that Vagenas and Vanney would make such a capable, linking, forward-moving defensive-midfield option. But, what Bruce and Dave have been able to correct, to educate, and to train in this two weeks almost has gotten me to consider "hope" into the final eight or nine weeks we have left. But, you are absolutely right, NathanHJ... if we don't have David, Eddie, and Landon present - it is going to be impossible to get the play-making and offensive creativity this team requires. Honestly, did Bob Bradley really need Eddie and Landon against Cuba and T&T? May be, as an ardent LA Galaxy fan, I am being selfish (not putting country before club). It's just that I want our LA Galaxy to finish on a convincing strong note... and, without our offense being there I have no idea how this is going to get accomplished???

One thing I like about Lewis is he isnt afraid to take long shots. The galaxy hardly ever shoot from outside the box even wide open space. They try to make the one extra pass and walk it into the goal like a shitty Arsenal who are pretty shitty. I think we are going to have to get alot of mommentum to make the playoffs expessially without Becks, Lewis and Landon. But Hopfully we can get. COME ON BUDDLE!
