SuperClasico. Tomorrow. (That would be Saturday.)
We gotta win this one. To do otherwise would be humiliating, particularly after last year.
Fortunately Chivas aren’t having the best of seasons so far this year either. Both teams have four points and they’re just barely beating us in the standings. A win here would take care of that.
I caught about twenty minutes of their game last week, and what I saw was a team that was playing pretty but unable to capitalize. Of course, that was against Dallas, and they were missing Francisco Mendoza and Sacha Kljestan, but we at least have hope.
The good news is that we don’t appear to have any more injuries than last week. We’ll be missing the same guys, with Pires doubtful and Ely Allen questionable. (And I’m still wondering about the quantitative difference between “doubtful” and “questionable,” since I consider these words to be practically synonyms. But I digress.)
INJURY REPORT: LOS ANGELES GALAXY - OUT: GK Charles Alamo (R knee surgery); DF Ante Jazic (R ankle surgery); FW Carlos Ruiz (R knee); DOUBTFUL: MF Alvaro Pires (L knee); QUESTIONABLE: MF Ely Allen (R hamstring) …
CHIVAS USA - OUT: FW Alecko Eskandarian (L groin strain), DF Alex Zotinca (R knee ACL surgery); QUESTIONABLE: MF Raphaƫl Wicky (back spasms); PROBABLE: FW Ante Razov (L calf strain), DF Lawson Vaughn (L hamstring strain)
Would you believe that my brain saw “Eskandarian” and immediately thought, “Wait. We’re playing RSL?” I keep forgetting he’s a Chiva now. (Is “Chiva” the singular for “Chivas”? Seriously?)
This one is on Fox Soccer (woohoo!) at 7:30. The Galaxy website says there are a “limited number” of tickets still available. So go and enjoy yourself for me, okay?
Oh, and I almost forgot. My week would not be complete if I didn’t link you to your game guide. So here you go. It’s listing last week’s starting lineup, with Tudela and Gordon in the midfield and Buddle and Landon up front, but since this was probably the least effective lineup ever created, I’d be a little surprised to see it agian.
But I could be wrong.
Go, Galaxy!

I was at that game last year with the heated fight lol. I will be there tomorrow also and I can not wait for this game I have been way to excited for one game. GA seats were sold out by Wednesday I think all they have left are some real expensive tickets and upper level ones (which are still great seats). With talk about the lineup I am so confused as to who should start I loved the 2nd half lineup last week but then we have Xavier and Vanney in the back. I liked having two left footed midfielders out there it seemed to help get the ball over to Becks. The only bad thing is when Pires gets back who sits him or Mcdonald. ahh Who would of ever thought that I would be in an argument with myself about who should play and who shouldn’t with this team. lol Well I hope we get our 3 points by whooping some chivas ass.

They really need to yank Gordon out of the middle there, if they play him at all. He looked sooo lost in that last game. I would prefer to be there and see the whole field, but from what I saw he looked a bit like a dog chasing the ball being tossed between two people.

Thank you for the picture of Kyle Martino! I’m trying to find out what he’s up to… and the second I do I’ll doot-doot on my phone and let you know immediately.
I can’t wait for this game also! I’m bringing a friend who’s never been to an MLS game before, so I think this is the perfect treat.

looking at this pic just make me wanna laugh at those people who says that Becks is a soft, weak boy. instead he is a strong, tough man! i hope nothing like this will ever happen again in the game tomorrow though.
worst of all..i hope Becks will come out of this game injury free and a victory for the team! and him! ;>Posted from

It’ll be interesting to see the lineup Rudd decides on. Hopefully he learned something from last week and builds from that 2nd half lineup.
