LA Galaxy vs. Red Bulls. Watching the Game? Leave Comments
By: Laurie | May 10th, 2008I think I’ve finally found a Sopcast stream, so I may be able to watch the game. (How much does it annoy me that I have to go through this for so many games this season? A lot. That’s how much.) And not only that, my pirate stream has commentary in English. How rare is that?
If you’ve found a way to watch it too, keep me company in the comments.

The galaxy defense sucks…I think they should try and trade roberts for Conde of the chicago fire…LA Galaxy have the worst defense right now.

conde would be a good addition.

Dunno, ref seems fine (@32nd min)… he’s lettin’ ‘em play and only cautioning the gnarly stuff. I’m on DVR, I had to work today. I got free tix though to home match on the 24th though… oxygen seats, but at HDC even the Oxy seats are good.

Nice goal, Gordo!
Both NY’s goals were Cronin’s screwup. A more experienced keeper doesn’t let those things happen. Not that he had much help from Vanney, too old too slow…
Alex Bruce did a nice job referee-ing a physical match.

So at the end I watched it. God what a dissapointment, when we gave up second goal I wanted to throw something on my computer. How can we be so naive and stupid in defence. Over all we played good, kept ball but didn’t creat any chances, they have two chances and they used them. We didn’t…
Game could be different if we got that Gordon’s “off-side” goal…if one of three guys would put into the net Beck’s “the only one good free kick”.
1. Gullit didn’t make three subs because he hadn’t them…our banch is too short
(,I understand Franchinho’s sub-he made a huge job and was tired. Jordan maybe doesn’t think quickly, but runs fast. Can’t blame him,his tactics brought us possesion, cut NY’s chances. It’s up to players creat and score.
2. Franchinho is good, very good, strong and smart. Well..maybe he is like Gatuzzo..McDonald is still not Pirlo.
3.Maybe I’m the only one,who isn’t impressed by Rondolf as a left wing midfielder. Rondolf is quick and strong, good for the left back, not enough for winger. He doesn’t read game fast to creat something dangerous, his passes are average. I prefer him as a left back.
4. Donovan was eaten till the last bone by three defenders, can’t say anything about him,he just wasn’t there. Good job by NY
5. Beckham was strange, strange in everything he did. He tried to play everywhere and get every ball with that confusing his teammates. Yes,you see he wants to win,but it wasn’t the smartest way to do it. Too desperate in every move. His moves were great occasionaly, but too complicated for his teammates. At some point of the game he just stoped to be team player-crossing the ball just for the sake of crossing, when nobody was in the box.
Awful corners, one good free kick out of three…David, you better practise more and not to show up at Gala in the middle of the week.
We better buy one good defender and start to play like a team again. Wait for RuizPosted from

hi mag..i really think that you shouldn’t blame Becks’ performance on his other activity which was done EARLIER in the week, not the middle of the week. if you really wanna blame him on his off-pitch activities and didn’t practice enough..then what do you say of Donovan? he didn’t have any activities..yet his performance was somewhat horrible too! and not to mention Gordon, Vanney etc, etc..and Becks still worked his ass off in the game.
my point here is that..DB has been doing his ‘thing’ both off and on the pitch for a long time now, and he still is a fantastic professional footballer..and every footballer have their downside sometime. and if you wanna rate them..rate them fair and square.
cheers! ;DPosted from

1. we need some serious work on our defense, just too slow. NY got two chances on goal and they put it in the back of the net both times. the 1st goal I don’t put the blame on cronin so much, but the 2nd goal he came out and then hesitated and you just can’t do that! I think he lacks instincts to be a really good keeper. I think Rudd needs to bring in Wicks and see what happens, unless he’s playing that bad in the reserve matches.
2. Beckham was not on with his crosses tonight.
3. The passes looked sharp and quick at times, but never really turned into chances.
4. Gordo is getting some goals and confidence!
5. Franchino I thought played well and I’m glad he’s on the team.
6. Donovan got covered well, never got any free space to runPosted from

i am actually very agree with this..
–The Galaxy have grown accustomed to their star players bailing them out of difficult situations, and that has come back to bite the team, especially against New York.
“Sometimes in a game, I don’t know what it is, we switch off. We think we can win only on talent and that’s not true,” said Gullit. “We have to work hard every week. We have to stick to our game plan.”–

Box,I don’t blame Becks. It’s always team who loose and win. But this Gala thing just another drop to the cup…A year ago Capello didn’t let him to attend Cruise’s wedding during season,Becks was injured and couldn’t play but still he wasn’t let to go. That time I agreed with Capello, player must pay attention just on training during week and game on Sunday,it’s not healthy to travel to NY and than back to LA,it doesn’t contribute to your fitness.

well mag, i agree with you – team first over individuals..but still..Becks has gone to America to do filming for Adidas ads with Reggie Bush DURING the season AFTER he’s been recalled back by Capello (remember the peroxide blond?). and i believe Capello allowed that since he didn’t say anything and continued to play Becks, who played very well for them, till the end.
i don’t know..but like i said, the Gs has been relying too much on their star players. and this game is just the first sign. what will happen during internationals?

Box,yeh it was complicated situation last year. It’s hard to say if Calderon or Capello made the decisions. Though I think his advertisment’s commitments are written in his personal contract..who knows

It was strange watching Beckham play last night, he was all over the pitch. He isn’t passing to Klein when he overlaps him on outside runs (I have noticed this the last couple of games). Klein is usually open when he makes those runs, but Becks passes inside rather than out.
The first goal was not Cronin’s fault at all. He stopped that point blank shot from Altidore. The second goal was sad. Everyone was still excited over Gordon’s goal when NY scored again. After watching the replay when I got home from the game, the defense really f’d up.
At this point, I hope when Ruiz comes back they score alot and often to make up for the goals the D gives up.
On a positive note, the shirts they gave away last night were pretty nice.Posted from

Hate to say “I told you so” but this game was on MlsLive.tv, that’s how I watched it. I think anything with a local feed gets a stream on there, even though they don’t let you know before hand for games that are on HDNet.

The first goal was indeed Cronin’s fault. The first thing they teach you in little keepers’ school is “collect” when everything is close in on goal. He parried/deflected in close and got beat on the rebound. One could argue the shot was damned hard to collect but he was on the ground already along with the ball, well, ya’ smother the bastard then! Cronin’s too green and he didn’t.
Of course even the best don’t keep up perfection… look at Cech this morning against Bolton. He did a Cronin and came way out while the tidal surge of white kits came flying in, but unlike Cronin, Cech had the speed (or leg/stride) to make it back nearly in time… and Cech had the advantage of AC and Alex to back his ass up and bail him out in the process, unlike Cronin, who has nobody but himself back there because Greg vanney is just too. damn. old. Ugh.
And yeah, Becks was off his game. He was out of sorts to be sure… not that that little van de fracker was going easy on his elders either.
Despite the loss, at least it was an exciting contest. Hopin’ for a win next week.
