LA, We Have a Schedule
By: Laurie | February 7th, 2008
Did you ever see the movie Galaxy Quest? You know the Sigourney Weaver character, whose only job is to flash cleavage and repeat, verbatim, what the computer says? That’s how I feel now that we have the Official, (snark-free) Galaxy blog.
Well, minus the flashing cleavage part.
Remember last year, when all of us were desperate for information? Any information? Now we have a glut. And this information includes the schedule.
We already knew that our boys were going to be the stars of ESPN2 in the first Thursday night matchup of the season, and that opening day would be against the Colorado Rapids (and this is me, spreading this out into two words and not saying “Crapids.” Aren’t you impressed at my self-control? Plus, I am NOT mentioning that we’re playing at The Dick.)
I mean… Oh. Damn.
But we’re talking about the schedule here, and here it is:

I’ll be at all the San Jose games now that I’m living in the Bay Area. Let me know if you’re planning to attend any.

The pre champions league in DC should be fun. Noon heat in the summer + major parking issues (the Nationals will be playing the Orioles and the city has said that although they’ve gone to their own stadium with no parking they can park for free at RFK and take a shuttle, but United fans will probably be expected to pay, hopefully the situation works out better than its looking and they charge those stickball fans the same or more).

Everyone hearing all the rumors about friendlies being added during the regular season? I guess when Lalas said he was thrilled that the schedule was more spread out it wasn’t ACTUALLY because it would protect his players from exhaustion and injury, it was BECAUSE HE SAW MORE TIME TO PIMP THEM AROUND FOR A BIT OF CASH!!!!!!!! YUCH AND GRRRR.
