I actually thought that McGee was effective tonite. The one I would have subbed out was Kovalenko. He just didnt seem to stay home while the rest of the midfield pushed up. I thought Arena's subs were spot on, including the last minute change on Buddle. He was GASSED!!!

Not to impressed with Buddle, maybe he put Gordon's boots on by mistake. He seemed to give up the ball everytime he got in or near the penalty area.

Dana, I was asking myself the same questions. The only thing I could think of was that maybe Arena had a gut feeling it would go into overtime no matter what, and wanted to save his options in case anyone's legs gave out -- he doesn't exactly have a group of pups out there, although the old dawgs did dig up something extra in those last 30 minutes.

I so agree with you, Nathan, about Mike Magee. I just can't figure out Arena. Why did he wait until the extra time 30 minutes to sub in Lewis and Gordon. I think if he'd subbed them about a half hour earlier the game would have ended quicker. There'd have been no need for the extra 30 mins. From my seat, Houston's defense seemed to be all over Buddle, most of the time. He could barely move and wasn't getting any calls. Gordon seemed to be less well marked, or he just moved a lot more, so the Dynamo defense gave him lots more space. IMO, Lewis should have come in at half time. Any clue what Arena was seeing in Magee that me and other fans didn't?

Almost 12:45 and I'm still awake. I need a Galaxy goal to stay up until 1:30. Darn little girls waking me up early this morning.

Can someone please tell me why Mike Magee is still on the field? If Donovan is going to play forward then Eddie Lewis needs to be on the left flank. Not Magee. I'd prefer Magee up top and Landon on the left.

Pah. Team needs better creativity and possession in the midfield if they are going to score and I don't like this formation for that against the Dynamo.

Nathan, they're saying it's SoCal Edison's fault. Some power station or something.

Enjoy your dark time out. :)

Whoa. Tripped a breaker or something. 75 percent of the lights just went out.

Even if they can sort this out quickly it is going to take sevrral minutes for the lights to get bright enough to play once they have power again.
