Let me just start this posting by saying how much I hate the MLSSoccer.com video set-up. The videos are very difficult to embed in all but the most up-to-date websites and even then they can do weird things with older browsers or older operating systems. So you’ll notice that all these are embedded from YouTube.

I’ve found some good stuff for you this week including:

*** Post-game recap with plenty of interviews

*** A fan’s tribute to the return of David Beckham (I liked the soundtrack, but it almost takes as long to get him on the field as it did in the actual game)

*** Biggest keeper FAIL I’ve seen in ages

It’s about time we had another one of these!

The Galaxy have the weekend off, but make sure you catch LD with the USMNT on Saturday, 6:00 Pacific, on ESPN2 and Telefutura. According to the USMNT site those times and channels are accurate, though I can’t find them to record on my DVR just yet. I’m also out of town this weekend so I’ll see you next week.

This is unrelated to tonight’s game, but I stumbled on this video while I was researching a “Classic Euro Moments” post for our Euro 2008 page. (If you’re a fan of the European game, please stop by and vote for the team you think will win this year.)

This video is about the Netherlands’ Euro 1988 victory, and has some great clips of our boy Ruud Gullit in his playing prime.

In case you weren’t paying attention earlier this week, Landon Donovan was named MLS Player of the Week by the North American Soccer Reporters. So congratulations, Landon!

But I think he deserves more.

In fact, I think North American Soccer Bloggers should start our own awards. Starting…now. And since there was no time to bring in other blogger-voters? As the current sole NASB representative, I hereby nominate and elect as our Player of the Week…

Congratulations, Landon, on receiving yet another award this week. I couldn’t come up with a trophy on such short notice, but you can have your pick of flat size 3 soccer balls from my downstairs closet. And I’ll throw in a pair of old shinguards. Which I swear have been washed sometime in the last six months.

Imagine this ball on a lovely golden plastic trophy stand, Landon. Because you’re worth it.

No, don’t thank me. It is moments like this that I live for.
