Injury Bug Bites Galaxy Again
By: Laurie | July 31st, 2007Consider it a taste of things to come. With so many games on the schedule in the next three months, I fully expect to see more of the injury bug that hit the Galaxy on Saturday night. From Sideline Views:
Kyle Martino was out due to a groin strain.
Chris Albright had surgery to repair a torn ligament – and is still expected to be out another month.
Cobi Jones aggravated his painful heel problem – the same one that is causing him to retire this year.
David Beckham – Still has serious swelling of bad ankle.
Edson Buddle – Achilles heel problem has affected both feet.
(Question from me. Albright and a torn ligament? I thought it was a torn hamstring? Did I miss something?)
Buddle pointed out that the crush of games wasn’t being kind to the recovering players. “There have been a lot of games back to back. Hopefully, we’ll be ready for the league games.”
One bright spot, though? It’s good to see Kevin Harmse back.
I’m not seeing an injury report yet for tonight’s game. (The one on the Galaxy home page is a week old and doesn’t even list Beckham.) Let’s hope we get at least a few if these guys back.
