Beckhams’ Nannies (allegedly) Treated Like “Dogsbodies”
By: Laurie | August 28th, 2007
Are you depressed by the Galaxy’s current play? Of course you are. We all are.
But I think I have just the ticket to cheer you up: A bit of snarky, worthless, trashy gossip about how hard it is for poor Victoria Beckham to find good and reliable help. According to the tabloid website from Now Magazine, (hey, of course it’s reliable! Do you really have to ask?) it seems Victoria’s two nannies have walked off the job and she’s currently having to take care of her own kids.
Oh! The tragedy.
(Photo is reportedly of Victoria making the school run, post-nannies.)
“Claire and Zara were employed to look after David and Victoria’s sons, Brooklyn, 8, Romeo, 4, and Cruz, 2, but it’s claimed they resented have to do cooking and cleaning, too
Zara had been with the family for over a year but Claire lasted only six months.
‘You’d imagine it’s a dream job working for celebrities like that in California,’ a source tells the News Of The World. ‘But these two trained professionals said it was a nightmare.
‘They complained Victoria spoke down to them, her mother Jackie bossed them about and they felt like dogsbodies.’”
Dogsbodies. Wow. Harsh.
But doesn’t “The Dogsbodies” sound like a great name for a punk rock band?

I’m a little cranky in the football world today, with Puerta’s death breaking my heart, and the Galaxy front office getting on my last nerve. So let me just say: leave them alone for at least a minute!!
Aiming at his wife falls under the category of kicking a man when he’s down. And I HATE stories that come from The News of the World, sorry, Screws of the World — the source for this one.
I know, the post is billed as gossip right up front and it’s supposed to be all in fun…still…it might just be me…

For the record, if this were the only account of her treating people she feels are beneath her as subhuman, I wouldn’t have posted it. It’s not. Far from it.

I might feel sympathy too if I’d tuned into Posh years ago. There are old interviews, etc. (Ant and Dec, Ali G, Bend in Like Beckham) that are just adorable. I’m not sure what happened. (I think she had all her original parts back then. Maybe mean-spiritedness and self-obsession goes up the more synthetic you are?)
As it is, though, my sympathy is all with the abused underlings. There are far too many spoiled famous rich people who think that their money and fame and non-disclosure agreements entitle them to treat others however they want. Articles like this one always make me believe that there are checks and balances in the world. I think this is a good thing.

I was actually feel more sympathy for the Becks half of the Beckhams because of the timing of the story in his life on the pitch. But from the interview clip on Sideline Views it sounds like his optimism-verging-on-delusional is still in place!
I agree with you completely regarding the treatment of abused underlings. But given the root of the story, I would just need to have lunch with these two before I believe they exist
. Now I am back to worrying about ALL of our injured players (and, shhhh, wishing they could just cancel the match!).
Hoping for the best…
