Yeah he might not be doing that good and we all might want to blame Cronin because he is the man between the posts but what about slow ass Vanney letting the man by him to score the last two goals for sure. The free kick Cronin had a good save and then Vanneys man blows in and scores from the rebound. If Vanney would have kept him out just a second or two longer we could have cleared it.

Bolkan and Adzemian have just been confirmed on loan to Portland. This is probably a portion of the compensation for the transfer of Wicks and Jordan. We get the players and you pay for them.

Higgins played at Gonzaga, I believe. He was a decent keeper from what I recall from the one game I saw last season but very raw.

Well I just finished my coffee and I am going to go get ready for the game now. Glad you found the real news on the dev contracts that other guy that popped up on the roster is now off it again? lol not sure what the hell is up with our team. No more news anywhere on the Cubans either. Oh well we will have to wait and see.

Damn, Justin, you're right. Teach me to post before coffee. They can have ten developmentals, not eight.

From MLSnet: MLS teams shall not have more than 10 developmental players on their developmental roster at any time (unless a player is added as a season-ending injury replacement). Developmental players can be either domestic or international and must be 25 years of age or younger during the calendar year of competition. These players do not count against a team's salary budget. They are signed to non-guaranteed contracts and thus, can be waived at any time.

Also I heard that for them to get the paper work in to play is not that hard and they would have already started it if Ruud likes what he sees. I hope the midfielder is a left footed one cause we need a few more of them.

I was pretty sure that each team could have 28 players and we are sitting at 25 right now. Then if you look at who we could cut which is in honesty like 3 Pete, Buddle/Gordan, or Jazic. We can not afford to let go of one of are strikers unless we bring in another one.

Diane, the teams are limited to eight developmental players to go with the 18 on the senior roster. It looks like they currently have seven, and that's not counting our mystery man, Scott Bolkan. He would be both our eighth developmental player and our 26th player overall.

So in answer to your question, in order for the Cubans to come in, somebody would have to go out. From what other people are telling me, though, getting work permits, etc. for these guys to play professionally is a challenge and takes time. Maykel Galindo had to play a year with the USL Seattle Sounders before he went to Chivas. So perhaps this is more of a longterm thing?

Our Portland Timbers blogger is thinking that since we took Josh Wicks from them, they should get the Cuban keeper back.
