Comments and SPAM, again
By: Laurie | November 13th, 2007A quick note for those of you who have recently had comments rejected as spam. Yes, this has been an issue in the past week.
For some reason, though, my Spam filter seems to have suddenly started working the way it’s supposed to again. (And if somewhere out there we have a tech guy responsible for this, well, sisterly Galaxy Offside hugs to you.)
What this means is that I’ve recovered about ten comments from moderation today. And then I went back through about the last 300 comments (three days’ worth) which had been rejected as Spam to try to pull out any that looked legit. That got me at least another half a dozen.
(It also caused me to be exposed to a lot of things I might otherwise not see in my life. Am I just sheltered? I still don’t think some of the advertised porn combinations are actually physically possible. And what’s up with anime porn? Are there really people out there so maladjusted that they’re not interested in real fake women and instead prefer the cartoon route? And do these advertisers think they can reach these people through my blog? And if you’re one of these people? Just please don’t tell me, okay? Ick, ick, ick! This is me, loving the inventor of Spam filters.)
But I digress. I do have a point here, and it is that if you have had any legit comments rejected as Spam recently, there is a chance that I may have just recovered them. And if your comments are rejected in the future, please let me know at lagalaxy[at]theoffside[dot]com.
Thanks for your patience!

Are you accusing us of having legit comments!? The very idea…
