A French Blog Dedicated to Cobi Jones and the Galaxy
By: Laurie | April 18th, 2007You have no idea how entertaining I find this! Last night I discovered a French blog dedicated to Cobi Jones and the Galaxy. I guess I find so much amusement in it because this person’s doing exactly the reverse of what I do, which is take French articles on the France NT and write about them in English to get people excited about my France team. This person takes English articles about the Galaxy and writes about them in French to get French speakers excited about the Gals.
Hey, I didn’t know French fans of the Galaxy existed! And the focus is our own Cobi, not the European David Beckham. How cool is this? And not only that, I learned something new: Josh Gardner may be coming to the Seattle Sounders. (How humorous is it that a blogger in Seattle who writes about LA finds out about a former LA player moving to Seattle from somebody who’s probably French? Small world, eh?)
The writer also speaks English, obviously, so you might consider stopping by and leaving a comment to show some support for all the effort put into building excitement about our team among French-speaking readers.

Say hi to Charly who’s a French HS student in France. I’ve been having nice chats with him and he’s a Galaxian, too.

haha, gotta love the french! is it just me or do they always have their hands all over everything? regardless, i think it’s awesome they’re supporting my home team AND Cobi Jones! i’m kind of sad that Cobi Jones is retiring at the end of the season, but at the same time he’s doing awesome right now. I also salute his current efforts with Kabillion (new kids network similar to nick or Disney); they’re really getting soccer out there and getting kids excited about the sport. Cobi teaches you how to do basic tricks, and then wants us all to upload a video of our best tricks on Kabillion– the best one each week will win an autographed Cobi Jones soccer ball, and they’re giving away 10 of them! Also, I think it’s a great way to curb child obesity– getting kids off the couch and onto the fields. Check out the site at http://cobi.kabillion.com . There’s also a bunch of other stuff on there from music, complete free programming such Bobby’s World, games, and chat. What do you think of the site and Cobi Jones’ involvement?
