A Little on Mike Randolph, and More Important Galaxy News
By: Laurie | December 18th, 2007
So I was doing a google news search today for “LA Galaxy,” to see if anything was going on that was important enough to make the news.
I got back the following headline: Galaxy blasts neighbor with deadly beam of energy
I assumed it was AEG’s and MLS’s plans for the total world domination of Beckham’s team. But I was wrong. It’s an astronomy thing.
I’m expecting slow news to continue through Christmas, but I’ll see what I can do to keep you entertained. Tune in first thing tomorrow for another “Caption This Photo.”
For now, though, let’s talk Mike Randolph. Word is coming back that he played well for the US U-23s against China U-23s. If i’m remembering correctly, he got his first cap in the first game by playing about twenty minutes, and then started the second game and played the first half. Several pundits singled him out as looking promising.
It’s a good thing he played the first half, too, because that was the good half. The half they went up 3-0. After that, they let their guard down and ended up with a 3-3 tie. (Although the third goal was a penalty on a blatant dive. Still. Three goals.) Goals from the match are in the video in this post.
The picture’s not Mike, but I thought it was cool. More at the USSoccer site.
Oh, and Robbie Findley also played well.
Yea, Mike! Let’s see some Olympic action! (Except that would mean that he’d miss a chunk of the summer. Talk about mixed emotions.)
