Abel Xavier = Movie Star?

As I was researching this post, I realized that I don’t remember ever hearing Abel Xavier speak. So I went to search YouTube? Nothing. DailyMotion? Ditto.

Official Galaxy blog? You know you read us. You will earn our undying gratitude if you can make it happen. Oh, and plus? If you do, I’ll never, ever refer to you as the “official, snark-free” blog again. (No disrespect ever intended. It was always just a way to differentiate you from us.)

For now, though? No video. What this means that I have no idea how sexy his accent is what kind of an actor the man will be.

But seriously, was there ever any doubt that this was the next step for the man? The combination of the hair and the move to LA always indicated that Hollywood was the next step. According to BBC Sport:

Former Everton and Middlesbrough defender Abel Xavier, famous for his crazy hairstyles, is set to light up the silver screen after winning the part of a detective in a movie called Without Fear. (Sunday Express)

I’m not a movie person, and I would absolutely go see this.

Oh, also? There were no videos of Abel actually talking, but there was this one of his hairstyles. Enjoy!

  He’ll be the next Vinnie Jones. A friend of mine worked on a movie with Vinnie and they were best buddies while filming. Apparently he’s a cool guy. This comment has nothing to do with Xavier I guess.

  Oh, and in that video Xavier starts talking at 0:52. He definitely has an accent and I like how he says MLS.

  George, i believe that video is titled “Battle of the sexy accents.”

  I mean…um… Great press conference! I find it interesting that Xavier’s accent is much more Mozambique than Portugal.

  I was watching Galaxty Depotivo (en espanol) or something like that and there was an interview with Abel at a training session last season.

  It is funny to me how many girls are in Love with Abel, yet they have never heard him speak. I guess animal instinct takes over after all. You are not the first person that has the same afinity fot him that I know of.

  It’s not all that common that a comment makes me burst out laughing, but that one did. The thought of me being a “girl” in love with Abel Xavier?

  Well…giggle. Just…giggle.

  I’ll be the first to fess up to being a fan of sexy European accents, meaning I find them fun to listen to.

  But beyond that? I’m way too damn old and way too damn married.
