And Ante Jazic Bites the Dust for 4-6 Months

By: Laurie | January 12th, 2008

jazic.jpgSpeaking of walking wounded (which was, of course, what we were speaking of. Or maybe in this case it should be “hobbling wounded. Or “hopping wounded.” And now that this thought is in my head, and since we’re again talking about the lovely Ante Jazic, I must link you to this previous post. You’re welcome.)

But anyhoo. Ante Jazic. Ankle. Out for a long time. Deja vu.

Last summer it was a sprain. Now it’s

“a debridement procedure, which is a removal and smoothing of cartilage from the ankle joint in his right ankle that could see him miss the next 4-6 months.”

Worst part? I’ve read that debridement procedures aren’t actually terribly effective at fixing the problem. Of course, the study I read was talking about knees, not ankles, so we can cross our fingers. But I’m thinking there’s no guarantee we’ll ever see Ante back at 100%. And this would make me sad.

  • Mag, There's a lot of transfer activity going on around the league right now, but I haven't seen anything yet on bringing anyone in. So far it's all one-way tickets out.

awful news,he is our starter and one of my fav. LA players...
Do you people know when transfer window opens. I'm waiting for some new blood that we desperatly need.
  • Oh snap. I remember reading a bigsoccer post from someone (same guy?) who described Jazic's hobble-pee-hobble crutches thing in the airport bathroom.

I'll be sad too if thats the prognosis, Doc.
