Let me start off by saying that I love the Offside and I read the blog regularly, and have been a loyal fan for a long time before writing what I’m about to write.

Are you serious with this blog entry? I missed the game and would like to know how David Beckham played, if him and Donovan linked up well, THE SCORE OF THE GAME, how the Galaxy’s form is, or if you see any signs of David Beckham rising from the ashes like a phoenix like he has in the past. The last thing I want is fucking pictures of Landy-cakes and Beckham shirtless on a blog. This isn’t Kickette.

And yes I know the title of the entry is “And a Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’ for the Ladies” and that I am indeed not a lady but it still appears on the LA Galaxy blog, where seemingly no actual game-related information has appeared for that fixture yet. Just facepalming a little here.

(I’m sure they’ll get to it shortly.)

Finnegan, my co-blogger, Nathan, will be here with game notes and comments. I deliberately avoided post-game comments to wait for his post. It should be up sometime Saturday.

You can also check out my live blog of the match here:

There are a lot of comments from the readers who also give a great feel for the game. Their comments were critical to round-out the feel of the match since I was typing quickly on the main blog page without pausing the game (hence, it being a “live blog”).

Kudos to all you other bloggers who have live blogging down pat. I need more practice — it’s hard, even with a quick typing speed.

    Finnegan,

I appreciate you for two things: one, you read the blog, which is exactly why we do it. And, two, you commented, telling us how you feel and what you want. Please keep doing both.

I apologize to all the readers who wanted their post-game analysis on Friday. I hate to make excuses about life intruding on blogging, but I was at my day job for 12 hours on Thursday and 12 hours on Friday and none of that included blogging or watching FSC, so I had to watch the game on MLSNet, which I did late on Friday night.

There will be a game update today and I’ll probably do a few other posts on implications for the rest of the season, et al.

THanks, Finnegan for pushing us to make the site what its readers deserve.

But I have to say that I love Jen’s futbol lifestyle posts as much as I love her liveblogs (which are very hard to do, btw). I’ll probably start doing quick post-game blurbs so fans can comment immediately and then I’ll do the longer analysis a day or so later.

Ditto what Nathan says. I always get an excellent feel for the Galaxy games I haven’t seen when I come here and read through the liveblogs/comments that happen during the games. The Galaxy blog under Nathan and Jen is one of the best on the site for game commentary as it happens, and the readers always leave informed comments as well.

Jen, agree about liveblogging. I got thrust into it during African Cup of Nations last year. Way out of my comfort zone, but ultimately really fun. The trick seems to be figuring out which on-field actions to write up and which to let go. Good job!
