The several things I’ve read about Gullit’s previous coaching experiences lead me to believe that he will last a maximum of two years and maybe less and that 2008 will be just as much of a clusterfvck as 2007.

But I also said that Blanco would ruin Chicago so take that for what it is: ramblings based on newspaper reports.

Still the reports do not inspire confidence and his penchant for not completing seasons bothers me.

You know who would have been an actual good coach for the Galaxy, were they not owned by AEG and “managed” by Lalas? Paul Mariner, the assistant coach of New England.

The Lalas Destruction Factor strikes again (and I can’t tell you how much I want to be wrong about that).

The legs on the streaker… makes me think he’s one of the Vansterdam reserve players. And he could run… one end of the pitch, across the penalty area then up the other side of the pitch. Not bad. Course in the US the paramilitaries woulda beat the daylights out of him first, or just shot him with a sniper. Oh, Ca-na-da…

How the hell is the new coach guy? He won 2 Euro cups… for who? Then an FA CUp, again, for whom? Such a name on the man…. oy vey!

Ian, you will be heartbroken to hear that a) it was 55 degress in Vancouver last night, and b) the stadium was indoors. So much for that "really mean it" thing, eh? Ian, Chris, chris, Nahir etc., I'm reserving judgment on Gullit until I actually, y'know, know something about him. Until then, all input welcome. But does anybody else think he looks like Frank Rijkaard? Tiffany, off the top of my head these players stayed home: Xavier, Harden, Martino, Gordon, Glinton. I'm sure there were a couple of others as well.

It’s a step up, no doubt. An FA Cup is nothing to sneeze at. However, still does not solve the issues at forward/midfield/defense!

And of course, Souness won nothing as player nor manager either. Oh wait, he’s probably won more trophies as both than most clubs. Only 29, not counting the minor ones. If that’s dumb, than we’re all mental.

True on the fact that a great player doesn’t translate to great managing. He did get an FA Cup as a manager, but he got a lot of crap results as well. I guess it comes down to what I said before – the team needs a new front office, not a new manager.

How is playing on The Invincibles going impact anything he ever does as a coach? Just because he was on great teams and was a good player doesn’t mean he’s knows how to win from the sidelines. In fact, it’s usually just the opposite. The best coaches sucked.
