Beckham’s on Extreme Makeover Home Edition Tonight

By: Laurie | November 4th, 2007

My daughter informs me that David Beckham will be on Extreme Makeover Home Edition tonight. (Check your local listings, yada yada.)

I found an article about the episode and see that it’s a touching story (aren’t they all) about a family in Wyoming who wanted to open an animal sanctuary, but discovered their home is contaminated by radon. Enter Ty and the gang.

I must say, I had these delightful visions of Posh’s first Wyoming experience. (Ever see a mosquito the size of your head, Posh? And that thing over there? No, it’s not the servants’ quarters. We call it an outhouse. And what do bears call women in five-inch heels? Lunch.)

So I was quite sad to discover that the Beckhams didn’t go to Wyoming. Instead, the homeowner family goes to LA, where the son attends the David Beckham Academy. Yes, on scholarship. I guess that’s almost as good.

And so, Beckham fans, if you’re not one of those lucky enough to be at the game tonight watching the boys kick the holy hell out of Alexi, be sure to tune in.

  • Laurie - thanks! I've lost count on which of the seven stages of grief I'm on at the moment.

As a Bay Area girl, I'm very very excited about the Yallop news. Also, I will *NOT* be surprised if Cannon asks for a transfer. And I think Doyle is smart enough to know to not use his DP slot until after the team gets settled (seriously - SJ is going to suck ass next year, we all know this) and after Chivas effed up so badly, he's not trading that slot to LA for anything. You guys are on your own to figure out how to keep Landycakes.
  • Oh, and Melissa, thanks for the link. I've been far away from soccer for most of the day.

P.S. Sorry about Chivas. But don't tell anybody.
  • Nathan, I've been mentally making up my "protected list" for the past couple of days. I also really, really want to see who everybody else picks. (On my mental list, Gavin Glinton is the only protected forward. Take Pavon. Please.)

    More on Yallop tomorrow!
  • Nathanhj
Multiple news sources are now reporting Yallop's resignation to take over the new Quakes.

I liked Frank a lot and thought he would be the best choice for 2008, since he had been through the worst and had coaxed some winning play at the end. ESPN makes it sound like he was going to get fired anyway.

Yallop wasn't the problem. Lalas was/is. Are they firing him too? (Pretty please?)

Now we can start speculating on who the new coach will be. The ever-reliable Daily Mail is predicting Steve McClaren. But I don't even know where to start.

Also, the expansion draft for San Jose happens the week after MLS Cup. We should start putting up predictions on who gets protected and who doesn't. The rules have got to be somewhere, right?

    More changes in LA-LA Land...
  • I'm hyperventilating!

I don't even know if I spelled that word properly!
