Becks Shaves His Head (again)

Well, Beckham has apparently decided that the platinum-blond thing was a disaster. (And I’m in total agreement.) So he decided to shave his head and start over. A huge improvement, no?

The best part is, he did the head-shaving thing at practice at Real Madrid. Apparently he needs to get in a final little bit of male bonding before he comes to the US?

(Personal note: I’m stuck for the week at the Opryland Hotel in Tennessee, alas, and will be continuing to post only sporadically for the next few days. Thanks to Hannah and Kenny for keeping me updated on the game. I wish I could have seen it! Or at lest the last thirty minutes. I’ll see if I can’t post links to some game reviews later.

If you ever get the opportunity to stay here, by the way, run like hell. This place is like an aging prostitute still trying to get by on her looks. Not pleasant.)

Louise, Canna shaving Becks' head. Why am I thinking you're enjoying the vision. :-)

Juliet & Ana, I really wish I could get out and see more of Nashville! I'm stuck here with no car and at an event with a very erratic schedule, so it looks like the airport and the inside of the Opryland Hotel is about all I'll get to see. (Although we did escape to Applebee's across the street earlier for lunch, which was nice. Particularly since you know the hotel would prefer that you not escape. At all. Ever.)

Laurie, you aren't even describing the HALF of it. The Opryland Hotel is the most artificial monstrosity I've ever seen. I, too, went to Vandy and I always had to take visitors there to gawk. To me, it encapsulates everything wrong with safe, prepackaged, ignorant tourism.

Um, but there are amusing places to visit downtown, if you can get a shuttle. The Parthenon is kinda neat & has some art inside, the Wildhorse Saloon has touristy country dancing (still fun), and there are tons of live music places up and down Broadway if you just walk around. There are interesting dive bars in downtown's Printer's Alley, too (ask for directions).

Oh, and I totally think Canna is behind this latest bit of mischief. Becks, baby, you'll burn your scalp!

It looks SO much better.

He did it at practice? I wonder if Cannavaro was involved--he shaved the heads of a few of his Azzurri teammates this summer.

I think he looks better with his head shaved if he's going to keep that color. Laurie, I go to vandy and just left nashville 2 weeks ago!
