Bermuda News! We Have Bermuda News!

So do you think the Galaxy PR people read my blog? Because one second I’m complaining about what they’re not giving me, and the next second. BAM! Everything I asked for. (Well, with the exception of those Bermuda tickets, for which I am still waiting.)

Yes, folks, our Galaxy guys are in Bermuda. Twenty-seven of them, minus US U-23s
Nathan Sturgis and Quavas Kirk. And also minus Kevin Long, who’s finishing work on his degree in San Francisco. (Risky move, Kevin. Hope it works out for you.)

And yes, all of our draft picks AND our French guy Laurent Merlin made the trip. (No word on Rui Fortes, the Portuguese guy. But at least one of our open tryout picks is still living the dream.)

Don’t forget, we’re playing the Revolution tomorrow night. And the Galaxy had better win, because I have a bet with Revolution Offside bloggers Jeff and Sabin. Loser has to dedicate a complete and fawning post to how great the other team is. And we definitely want to see it written by them, aimed our way. NOT the other way around.

But at any rate. Rather than doing any actual work on my own, I’ll just give you this info, straight from the website. But don’t take my word for it, folks. Visit yourself for more info, including an interview with coach Frank Yallop.

Thanks, Jeff. I'd read that he'd been cut but no details. I never did see a picture, though. Guess he didn't look like Cristiano Ronaldo (As Martha says, The Pretty Ronaldo) or a young Figo, or they would have played that up in the media.

I still have hopes for the French guy, though.

I saw somewhere (there it is) that Fortes has returned to Rhode Island, where he presumably hides under miles of blankets and the weight of his broken dream.

Oh, and something posted on the Galaxy's corner of MLSnet.com tells me the preseason game will be "broadcast live" on www.revolution.net. If you look really hard right around the middle of that page, you'll see it.
