I am on the same boat… I love soccer and Comcast here in Seattle is lame and we can’t get GolTV, Telefutura or Galavision but it is offered by Comcast in other cities (i.e., New York, Miami). I was even trying to switch to Dish Network but the house next to me is on the way of the satellite line of sight.. anyhow.. MLS is coming next year so hopefully Comcast will wake up….

I rather fear the broadband will be stuck in its poor coverage til the end of the current TV deal. Which if I remember correctly, expires sometime around the year 2108.

Laurie, the game was also broadcast on Fox Sports North West in English. Don’t always believe what they post on the LA Galaxy site.

See, that’s the thing. I don’t live in LA. I live in Seattle. This blog is part of my Grand Experiment — can I transfer my affections from my first love, French soccer, to MLS, when I don’t have a team in my city?

I picked the Galaxy partly because they interest me and partly because I think they’re physically closest. Although technically Salt Lake may be closer, but… Well, please. (No offense, Ian.)

For the most part, I’m considering this a big success. I’m really liking both the team and the players and am finding myself mgenuinely caught up in all things MLS. But there are challenges, such as the fact that several of the games are just not offered here, at all, in any format, period.

I’m hoping this is growing pains on the part of MLS. Right now they’re so anxious for TV revenues that they don’t want to offend their broadcasting partners by offering any kind of conflicting services, such as broadband, when a game is shown on any channel that is theoretically available nationally. I’m hoping they’ll fix it in the next year or two.

Until then, I’ll be forced to “view” several games a year on freakin’ MatchTracker. Including today’s, which I really, really want to see — so much that I considered flying down but couldn’t make it work. (Although I will be doing that for at least one game this year.)

If you live in the LA area you should be able to pick it up without cable… i know it is channel 26 in the san fernando valley
