Donovan to Barcelona (Or: How Much Do I Love April 1)

Since I’ve already given you one great rumor for the day, how about another, even better one. Bruce Arena and Landon Donovan both to Barcelona this summer.

(Truly, you have to read the whole article, because it made me laugh out loud.)

The sometimes brilliant, sometimes invisible, always balding forward/midfielder agreed to a salary of €10 million ($13.3 million) per season, plus all outstanding requests on his wedding registry to join Barcelona from the Los Angeles Galaxy during the summer transfer window. Donovan’s deal will run through 2012, with a built-in “Leverkusen clause” which is an option to send his ass back to the U.S. at any time if he starts to suck.
