Don’t forget to vote for Landon. Again
By: Laurie | April 29th, 2008
This could get old, couldn’t it?
(I’m sitting here trying to imagine this getting old. I’m not getting there till at least next season.)
Landon’s up for Goal of the Week again this week again…for…um… Wait, which goal was this again? There are so many I can’t keep track.
Check out Landon and all the other nominees above, then vote early and often. Landon is currently far behind in third place with a mer 9% of the vote. Let’s fix that, shall we?
Oh, and while you’re at it, be sure to stop by Goal.com and check out this article on the newer, badder Landon Donovan.
(Confession here: I’ve voted several times for Landon, but I did have to stick one in there for Santino Quaranta. Not that his goal’s the best, but after his spectacular Galaxy flameout last year… Well, to be honest, his comeback story has activated my maternal area.)

I’ve gotta say, I read that article about big bad Landon at Goal.com and I’m flabbergasted, to say the least. I mean, here Landon Donovan is setting records in MLS with 8 goals in 5 games played (actually scoring in 4 games), he himself has outscored 6 teams in MLS and has scored as much or more than 10 teams in MLS – and yet they want to gripe about his goal celebration?
Is this professional soccer or middle school dance class?
Chivas and Preki should be embarrassed they made such a stink about it. I’m sure the players could care less; they’re embarrassed by their performance and quite possibly embarrassed by their coach. I noticed Preki isn’t upset at all – nor is the media – about Sacha Kljestian and Ante Razov’s goal celebration, which the Galaxy fans know all about.
But see, Galaxy fans have cojones and don’t worry about such stuff. It just adds to the atmosphere of the rivalry. Man up, Chivas and grow up, editorial “writers.”

I love to be a home supporter, but it was his second goal that should have been nominated. Sorry..can’t vote for this one.

I’m voting LANDO always! Although, who are we kidding, that volley by Gallardo was pure class! As was Guevarras. Gallardos was better but i bet the Canadians are plotting something to make Amado win it.
And Nicole is right. When Sacha scored, he had some cajones to run up to us(ACB) and mock us, but boy did he hear an ear load from us. I got upset and threw streamers at him… lol.

Donovan gets my vote but I have to agree Gallardo’s volley was a world class strike.

BTW, has anyone heard about Ruiz and how his rehab is going? be great to get him back soon and add to the striking ability we have, ’cause our defense is gonna need it.

I can’t vote for Donovan’s goal with a clear conscience. Gallardo’s goal was clearly the best of the week. Plus we have to stop all those TFC fans stuffing the ballot for Guevara. Last week it was a true toss up and I voted once for Donovan and once for Altidore. This week its Gallardo no question.

Yeah, I must admit – I voted once for Landon but 3 times for Gallardo. That was an awesome goal.

I think the title of this should be changed:
- Either take out the words Don’t and to from the title
- or simply remove the word “Don’t”
- Or how is this for a title “Vote Amado or Gallardo.”Any of those work for me.
El Lobo and El Muneco’s goals were off the meat rack.

Gotta go with Gallardo’s goal this week. There was only one goal that was worse that Landon’s and that was Quaranta’s goal.
