UPDATE: Eskandarian and Donovan — Goal of the Week Nominees
By: jen | July 21st, 2009
Hey everyone. Namoff is winning the voting by a very slim margin over Eskandarian (40% versus 39%). I was actually there live for Namoff’s goal and it was NOT as good as Esky’s. That’s just the DC United fans voting — so let’s show the DCU fans who the better supporters are!
Two saweet goals from Thursday Red Bulls game. Too bad Lewis wasn’t nominated as well, but I suspect it’s in the small print that they can’t nominate three players from the same team.
So take another look and rock the vote here. Voting closes tomorrow afternoon, so click over and vote quickly.

anyone who thought namoff’s goal was better than esky’s or donovan’s should be shot on site.
looks like DCU’s fans took a page from the Sounders when it comes to ballot stuffing…

I agree, no way was Namoff’s goal better than our two Galaxy strikes, although I did like his own goal

Completely off topic, but regardless of how you feel about the Donovan Beckham thing, you need to visit this site for some laugh out loud funny stuff:

I liked 12, but 15 was a close second.

Also, DC United is considering signing Ely Allen to a developmental contract. And did anybody know that Ty Harden was now playing for the Rochester Rhinos?

I thought Ty Harden was with Colorado. They must have waived him when they brought in that new central defender. That year off fubared his skill level if he couldn’t find a space on the Rapids backline. Maybe he should try New York.

I think Harden may be on loan in Rochester? I’ll check it out and get back, because he’s a UW kid who activated my maternal area.
