Galaxy 0 – 1 Rangers
By: Laurie | May 23rd, 2007I followed the game on MatchTracker and Luis Bueno’s Sideline Views Liveblog.
On the whole, just judging by the numbers, it looks like it was a pretty balanced game. A balanced game we just happened to lose. Rangers had 11 shots, Galaxy had 12. Rangers had 4 saves, Cronin had 3. One yellow card for each side.
And everybody played. Literally, every player available for the Galaxy played at least a few minutes except for backup keeper Lance Friesz.
The score came from Kris Boyd, the player Ian warned us about earlier today. (See, Galaxy guys? If you’d read The Offside, you would have seen it coming. ALWAYS read The Offside.)
And that’s basically it. Except that Rangers player Nacho Novo has replace Galaxy Reservist Johnny Bravo as The Player With The Name I’d Most Like To Claim as My Own.
That it all. If you saw the game, let me know what you thought.

Yay for Boyd! Also, I agree that Nacho Novo is the coolest name ever. The new nacho. Kris Boyd is my hero … especially if he can keep this scoring form up for Euro 2008 qualies.

It’s too bad you didn’t see the game — Johnny Bravo is an impressive specimen

The game was good. The officiating was shocking at times. Rangers should have had two first half penalties. It was a choppy game at times but good none the less.

It was a fun game (even if the Galaxy put up their reserve squad for the first half.)
The Riot Squad was in good form (a few borrowed chants: “You’re always second to Celtic” and “There’s only one team in Glasgow”) but the few original ones certainly got the attention of the many Ranger fans in the stands (the two best one’s being “You’re just a suburb of England” and “You’re still a colony”)
The Rangers certainly had quite a showing in the stands, maybe some day we’ll be able to truly stand with them on the pitch- but the game wasn’t nearly as even as it looked in the stats. What the hell’s gonna happen when we’re playing Chelsea?Posted from
