Galaxy 1 - 3 Dallas

By: Laurie | June 10th, 2007

How depressing is it getting to be to be a Galaxy blogger?

So depressing I’m almost tempted to click on those “Prozac to Your Door!!” spam links.

One more dropped game, 3-1 to Dallas. I haven’t been able to watch it yet — I was busy last night, so all I know is the score and that Robbie Findley scored the LA goal. I was planning to watch it tonight, but my internet is operating at about 1% capacity and I can’t open any websites (except for some reason, this one, which magically revealed itself to me a couple of minutes after I’d given up on it. We’ll see if this will post now.) I’ll report more on the game if Verizon gets its act together soon.

On the plus side for the Gals, the international transfer window opens soon, which means that Abel Xavier, at the very least, will be joining us and with luck should be playing next week. And who knows what other surprises Alexi has up his sleeve?

One player who was kind of a little bit linked to the Galaxy but apparently won’t be coming is Luis Figo — Martha reports that he’s headed back to InterMilan. Probably a good thing for Luis, Inter and the Galaxy. I’m really hoping for slightly younger-yet-experienced players.

Another who sadly won’t be joining us is Phil Cave, the twenty-year-old who was visiting from Newcastle in the UK to check things out here. He’s returned to England this weekend, and we wish him the best of luck there. (His parents were very gracious about answering e-mails from a lowly blogger, so I’m hoping for great things to come their family’s way.)

But if not these guys, who else? If I’m counting correctly we have two more roster spots after Xavier and Beckham, and with all these injuries we need bodies to fill them! I’ll be checking our rumors and I’ll et you know what I hear.

On a personal note again, I sent off one houseguest today (the easy one) and am expecting more tomorrow. Between this and our internet problems I’m not sure how much I’ll be able to post in the near future, but I hope to have a working computer and at least a little free time over the next few days. And if you see any Galaxy news, post a commment!)

I think we all have to admit to one more Galaxy related negative fact:
Team has a broblem with main Goalkeeper. From game to game Cannon seems to be losing confidence in his abilities, making whole team nervois.
I believe team has great golie. His name is Steve Cronin. Cronin’s performance during Galaxy-Red Bulls game was amazing. I think he was the biggest asset for the team that day.
Also, when would midfielders stop those demoralizing and unnecessary back to goalie passes?!
Hope Mr. Yallop has some fresh ideas on how to save team.
