Galaxy Trade Rumors: Klein In, Sturgis and Findley Out?

By: Laurie | June 21st, 2007

I can’t trace this back to an original source yet, so take it with a grain of salt for now, but a couple of blogs are reporting that the pre-Beckham housecleaning continues, and that the Galaxy have just inked a trade with Real Salt Lake. Chris Klein in exchange for Nate Sturgis and Robbie Findley. Or, in other words, jettisoning the future in order to save our top priority, The Beckham Season. (RSL seems to be taking the opposite approach, jettisoning this season to prep for the future.)

I’m not sure how I feel about this. On the one hand, we need some stability in the midfield. On the other… Well, dammit, I won’t be able to make any more Beaver jokes regarding Robbie and his Oregon State past! And Nate Sturgis too? Doesn’t this up the median age for Galaxy players to close to thirty? Is this how we build a team?

I don’t know. What you you think?

The rumor is true. Findley I can live with losing, but losing Sturgis hurts.

  • I think findley has a future but klein is really going 2 help the Galaxy's midfield.

Once again, RSL has done something I think is stupid. I like Findley, and Sturgis has potential too, but Kleiner is one of my favorites at RSL (a steadily shortening list) and it would be a real shame to lose him, especially considering how weak our midfield already is. But, I suppose something has to change. Suck.
