REASON FOR COMING FOR TREATMENT: Penny had Parkinson’s symptoms for eight years.

DIAGNOSIS: Parkinson’s Syndrome (Diagnosed in 2002)
BEFORE THE TREATMENT (May 11, 2006): Penny had uncontrollable shaking. Her muscles were extremely tense. She had high muscle tension and she looked like she was extremely strong but in fact her muscles were weak. When she was walking or doing anything, she would have freeze ups where she would stop and not be able to continue her motion. If she were talking on the telephone, it would be hard to talk on the telephone. She could not read or write because of the tremors. She could not eat by herself. She could not get up out of a chair by herself. She could not brush her hair. She could not get out of the bed by herself. She had trouble turning her neck.
TREATMENT: Dr Like Wu and Dr Xiaodi Han gave her injection into the brain of retinal neural stem cells with a daily cocktail treatment of neurotropic factors.

The pitch was really slick. We’ve had a lot of rain here the last week or so and the field couldn’t drain fast enough to keep up with the amount of water coming down. The groundskeeper showed me a picture from Monday with the whole field under 3″ of water. Soon as the rain quit it drained quickly, but not really enough time to dry properly.

I agree with Justin that the field was terrible. I was at the game (Sect. 136) and I couldn’t help but notice how many players were slipping and sliding out there. Buddle slipped during warm-ups!

Overall, I thought it was going to be exactly what it was – a preseason game. Nothing to spectacular, although I did assume a FEW more people would have come out, considering there are substantial Japanese, Chinese, and Korean communinities in LA.

Oh, and one last thought – my wife was DISGUSTED by some of the LA fans (section 138) at the game who were yelling racial slurs towards the Oita players. I was surprised at this, having attended quite a few games over the years and never once hearing anything of the sort. Hopefully we haven’t encouraged THOSE types of fans to come to the games…

Oh, right. I forgot to say how much I like Kovalenko. I always rated him with RBNY (never really watched him for RSL) and was happy when the Galaxy got him.

I think we need to say Oita didn’t bring too much game.
Still, I thought the defense was pretty solid. They
kept their shape and there were none of the gaping holes
that plagued us all too often last year. I liked Franklin and Lewis as outside backs. Pretty much everything that came down the wing got shut off with little penetration.

I also liked the play of Kovalenko. The man is a pit
bull in the middle and we need that.

Buddle was good but if there’s not another credible
option up top defenses will be able to focus on him
and he’ll get shut down.

I’m half way between Justin and Steve on Tudela. I
love his work rate but I don’t think he’s ready for
prime time yet.

Suwon will be a much, much tougher test on Saturday.
De Oliveria (#8) and I think it was Dae Keon Kim (#14)
looked really good for them up top last night and
their passing all across the field was crisp and
accurate.
