Unrelated, but the first exceprt from Grant Wahl’s Beckham book is out, and it’s not pretty. (Although it’s pretty much what everyone who was following the team at the time expected.) http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/the_bonus/06/29/beckham.book/?eref=sircrc

Great game! I was at the HDC and saw it live. Gordon seemed to be having a tough time out there. I was so proud of Dunivant! The ref on our side of the field kept giving throw- ins to the Dynamo, when it should have been a Galaxy throw, but other than that , it seemed okay. I recorded the game, so will watch it again on my DVR.

I just read the same excerpt, Laurie, and came by to see if anyone else had. Pretty creepy. All I could think of was that Donovan and Beckham’s relationship can only get worse after the book comes out — sucks for the whole team. Still can’t believe they didn’t sell him to Milan when they had the chance.
I have tickets to the Red Bulls game on the 16th and already wasn’t looking forward to being there for “reunion night.” Yuch.

I think it would do the Galaxy well to just bench him and get it over with. This team can (and should) make the playoffs without Becks. We won championships and were the jewel of MLS before he came, and we can go back to that when he leaves.

loved seeing the galaxy play in blue! they should make the blue jersey the main one and use the white one for away games. if you walk around the HDC you’ll see that most fans prefer the blue jersey as well

I totally agree, Beepbeep (?) . I like seeing the blue jerseys at the home games. The white ones are just blah!
