If the Galaxy wins tonight we will own first place in the Western Conference, regardless of the outcome of the Chivas vs. Houston match being played tomorrow. How awesome would that be?! I still can’t believe the turnaround we’ve had this year. If only we can be in top form for the playoffs . . .

Our household has come down with everything but swine flu so I’m just going to link you to other previews and try to get some rest. I’ll see you in the comments later. Go Galaxy!

Am I the only one who was yelling at the screen every time that stupid Jim Watson on FSN called Chris Birchall "Greg?" COME ON, DUDE. Even after Rogo corrected him like 5 times the guy couldn't get it.

    Woohooo!
neat stat from the official blog:
Bruce Arena has used all 3 subs in every game this season.

What minute did Beckham come off?

Klein in for Birch tree. Jovan in for Becks. Not sure why.

Seattle and Dallas tied right now. Doesn't matter. We are first!

    Like Birchall a lot.

Brought in Lewis for Magee. Looks like Dono is lone striker now.

Last I checked, Seattle losing, but that was 15 minutes ago.

Not a bad first half. Galaxy is taking the game to the Quakes and is dominating possession. They arenLt as sharp in some of their passing and a few times poor first touches have led to unnecessary turn overs in the final third. Buddle is better than last few games but still needs to step it up a notch. had a great sequence and possession negated by a poor Donovan touch inside the 18.

After the half they need to keep aggression and be more intense in concentration on passes and finishing.

Franklin, Birchall and Beckham combining nicely.

First 20 min and the G's look very good. Except for a tad too much sloppy passing. That is going to haunt them unless they lock it down. Offense looking better. Including that goal from Donovan deflected of a SJ defender.

Very dangerous sequence fron the G's including a good offensive run and pass from Franklin. Only massive save from Cannon saved SJ on that.

    Lineup

    Ricketts
    Dunivant - Berhalter - Gonzalez - Franklin
    Donovan - Kovalenko - Beckham - Birchall
    Magee - Buddle
