Gavin Glinton Taken by San Jose
By: Laurie | November 21st, 2007
What the hell was our front office thinking not protecting our super sub striker Gavin Glinton?
Because yes, Gavin was taken today in the expansion draft by Frank Yallop and the San Jose Earthquakes.
Color me depressed. That is all.
I’m out of town doing the family thing for the next couple of days. Unless, of course, I can manage to get sick in the next few hours. (*Cough* *Cough* You heard that, right? Sounds serious, doesn’t it? Tell me it sounds serious.) So I’ll see you later in the weekend.
As always, if you hear news breaking (and what does that sound like, exactly?), leave notes in the comments. Have a great Thanksgiving!

Losing count of COMPLETELY incomprehensible Galaxy actions in the short time I have been following team. List was probably too long to store on my hard drive >:/// !

I will never understand protecting Buddle but not Glinton. Who wants Buddle? Jimminy Crickets, people!
On the other hand, someone is going to get a nice defender in exchange for a 3rd string keeper becasue SJ didn’t take a keeper, but loaded up on young defensive talent. Goodson, Cochrane, Hernandez, Pozniak and even Guerrero are all quality defenders. Do I hear a Friez for Cochrane trade? Probably not. But maybe Cronin for Cochrane. That would be okay with me.
Laurie, you sound really bad. Bed rest (at home, of course) and Tivo for you. No travelling.

Laurie, Yallop took Pozniak from Toronto, he’s our Super Sub (but he played anywhere he was asked) as well. I’m feeling your pain. Though Poz is much better looking than Glinton, so I think it might actually be worse…

At the draft party, Frank said Glinton is from Livermore (I just checked on the internets, its true) and said specifically that Glinton “wants to be home” (direct quote from The Frank).

From your lips to my in-laws’ ears, Nathan. *Cough. Cough*
Sigh. Never happen.
I’ll see y’all on Sunday.

Yallop’s smart to take him.
I can only hope that Cobi is being allowed to make some decisions throughout this process. He’s smart. Perhaps he has the clout with Lalas to get Lalas to listen.

Cochrane isn’t going anywhere. He went to school at Santa Clara and wanted to return to the Bay Area. Kinnear put him on the Houston list knowing he would be taken — Cochrane told Kinnear he wanted to go to San Jose.
And Cochrane-Goodson is a decent central defense, as good as or better than most in the league. GKs can be found for much less.
