Guess Who Galaxy’s #1 Preseason Goal Scorer Is?

Sorry for going AWOL all day. My French guys played a friendly, and I actually watched the game through twice, start to finish, once with French commentary, once with English. (Because you really do get a different perspective each time.) My butt is SO tired. But it was worth it, because they played all their young players, almost every single one who’s ever been labeled “The Next Zidane.” So essentially what we had was a whole entire field of little future Zidanes in every color of the rainbow running up and down the field. So pretty! Even if they did only win 1-0. (They may be future Zidanes, but they’re not quite there yet. But it was still a happy, joyous game.)

But…um…yeah. I’m back to the Galaxy. And I have some interesting info for you. Guess which player is our highest scorer for the preseason so far? Guess. Go on.

Did you guess Landon Donovan? You’d be wrong.

Nate Jaqua? Nope.

Robbie Findley? Cobi Jones? Kyle Martino? John Thorrington? (And where is John Thorrington lately, anyway? He didn’t play in Puerto Rico.)

And the answer would be: None of the above. Everybody I’ve named got two goals. As did the sadly departed Josh Gardner. This player got double that. So who is it?

Who guessed Chris Albright? Yes, Chris Albright. Yeah, I know! I told you he was a dramatic player. When something’s going on, he seems to always be in there.

Let us hope he continues to use this power only for good.
