How to Find More Galaxy Information
By: Laurie | March 6th, 2007I’ve arranged my entire life today around seeing the Lyon-Roma Champions League game, so I won’t have a lot of time to keep you up to date on Galaxy stuff. Seriously, if you love rough and dirty football, you need to see this game. Last time they met we had 33 fouls in the first half alone, eleven yellow cards in the game, more dives than the summer Olympics, and one of my beloved Lyon players landing a foot in an opponent’s parties gĂ©nitales . (Do I need to translate that one? I thought not. Also: I just googled that phrase trying to find the original, soccer-related article and I have to say: Do NOT google this at work. Trust me here.)
While I am otherwise occupied, however, reader Kenny pointed me towards some alternative sources of information so that you and I will NOT be 100% reliant on the lame Galaxy website.
Note: You are allowed to use these, provided that you use them as an enhancement to your LA Galaxy Offside blog experience and not as a replacement for it. Are we clear on this? Okay.
First we have the Big Soccer forum. (Which I tried unsuccessfully to register for several weeks ago. Did you know that it allows you the option of listing your birthday as 1901, but then the system won’t accept it? On behalf of 106-year-old soccer fans everywhere, I am REALLY offended.) Fortunately you don’t need to be registered to READ the forum, only to POST there. So here’s the link.
Also, if you’re into Beckham. (And you know you are, even if you don’t want to admit it), Real Madrid does have an English-language version of its site. It never even occurred to me to check (hey, I’m a blogger, not a journalist, okay?) because I’m a fan of French soccer, and the French generally don’t feel a need to provide English-speakers with information. Although I did find one for my favorite team, Olympique Lyonnais (Lyon) a few weeks ago, but I apparently forgot to leave the right trail of breadcrumbs, because I haven’t been able to find my way back.
But at any rate. Enjoy your day, and I’ll catch you tomorrow.
