I Guess Galaxy Played the Red Bulls This Weekend
By: Laurie | March 5th, 2007So did YOU know that Galaxy were playing the Red Bulls this weekend? Because I certainly didn’t know. If I am going to continue this blog, I SO need to cultivate multiple other information sources that are not the Galaxy website, whose motto seems to be We might tell you about stuff. After the fact. If you’re lucky.
But anyhow. The game. A boring nil-nil draw. Or a fantastic defensive battle! Take your pick.
And many, many substitutions, at least on the part of the Galaxy. Seriously, did anybody not play? Twenty-one players participated at one point or another during the game. The second Brit, Darren Currie, got fifteen minutes or so in his first LA scrimmage experience, and a whole bunch of people played one half only. Draft pick Josh Tudela came in at the start of the second half but was subbed out in the 56th minute. What’s up with that? Injury? I hope not, although it’s probably a more pleasant thought than that he was subbed off after ten minutes for non-injury reasons.
Los Angeles – Steve Cronin, Chris Albright (Ian Russell 75′), Ty Harden (Mike Randolph 46′), Tyrone Marshall, Ante Jazic (Darren Currie 75′), Santino Quaranta (Nathan Sturgis 46′), Kevin Harmes (Josh Tudela 46′, John Thorrington 56′), Peter Vagenas (Kyle Martino 46′), Cobi Jones (Quavas Kirk 46′), Nate Jaqua (Gavin Glinton 46′), Robbie Findley (Landon Donovan 46′).
And here we have my favorite part of the website’s summary: Attendance: 175.
Gosh, Galaxy folks. Next time you might take into account that it’s kind of hard for people to attend events they don’t know about…
And speaking of events nobody knows about, the Galaxy are apparently supposed to be going to some thing in Puerto Rico this month. Which the website doesn’t seem to be mentioning. But don’t worry. I will keep you informed.
