Interstate Love Song
By: jen | April 3rd, 2008That’s what the official, snark-free ( or should I say smack-free) MLS website would have you think:
“Galaxy Welcome Old Rivals Back Into Fold”
Yeah, sure we do. Like lambs to the slaughter!
Some notes on tonight’s game:
*Ruiz is out, which you already know unless you’ve been living under a rock.
*Alvaro Pirez is likely out as well with a sore right foot. In fact, he’s listed as “doubtful” along with Ruiz, who does not seem doubtful at all but rather “out.”
*Xavier is suspended, red card from Rapids game.
*Rookie Julian Valentin is probably and trained with the team both Tuesday and Wednesday. We may see him on the field for this game.
*The game is being broadcast on ESPN2 at 7:30 Pacific Time as part of their Thursday MLS double header.
Who will start? Who will score? Will our defense be as porous as San Jose’s is reported to be?
My prediction? 3-1 Galaxy. The odds makers predict a win as well. So good luck San Jose; you’re going to need it!

Yes, I had noticed that. Thanks to Melissa and her smack-talk!

There’s nothing more to say on The Quakes. We’re ready to give a proper beat down tonight. And porous defense? Didn’t watch the Carolina Cup games I’m assuming. Zing!
(If we lose, I know I’m going to eat my words for a good week, so GO QUAKES! Make me proud boys.)

Any chance of seeing Wicks in goal? Cronin made my eyes hurt. I admire your gumption, talking about “porous defense” after that 4-0 on the weekend. Should be a good match.

San Jose’s defense is better than ours on paper. It’s only a matter of time till Yallop whips them into shape.

Frank’s going to have them bunker in and only counter
attack. He’ll probably be plenty happy with a tie.
However, given last weeks shellacking a tie would be
practically a loss for us. Goals are going to be
hard to come by but we’ve got to have two or three
just for the team psyche. We’re going to need 7 or
8 points out of the four home games in April.Posted from

Good luck San Jose, your going to need it?
Were we watching the same games last week?
I call a 1-1 draw.

Well Dave, I’m hoping I won’t have to pull my head out of my ass on that one, but I stand by my statement.

I don’t think Alvaro Pires was ever in…not at least talent -wise.
Let’s hope the ‘Quakes take this one. Otherwise, we’ll have to wait several years before knowing what a full-blown freak-out for an MLS club looks like. If LA melts down (again) this year, well, we’ll have our answer.

And my English writing sensibilities have finally kicked in. If there was such a song, it should be “Intrastate Love Song.” Here I thought I was making a nice connection.
I’ve had a rough day with the kids and am strangely more-than-the-usual tired. So forgive my brain. I’ll do better next time.

Jen - my predictions are always up my ass. I stink.
So you are probably right. But my GOODNESS lady, what CONVICTION!

You’re doing great, Jen, you deserve to be rewarded tonight (at the very LEAST of course by the Gals).

I feel bad for the Revs and I have no desire to go over to their blog and ridicule them. Rev fans should feel better knowing that the Galaxy haters aren’t going to go on their blogs and taunt and ridicule them because of the blowout. The haters reserve that kind of hate just for us.
