Is Landon Donovan for Sale?

By: Laurie | June 18th, 2007

From 3rd Degree, an FCDallas blog:

At half-time of the New York Red Bulls game against the Kansas City Wizards, Shep Messing says that LA is looking to dump cap to bring in some players. To do that, Messing says, the Gals are shopping around Landon Donovan and want to swap him for Carlos Ruiz.

I’ve been looking around today trying to find verification. I haven’t found anything, aside from the fact that Shep Messing did actually say this. Other than that, nobody’s confirming or denying anything. Which could be a message in itself.

Think Landon’s going to come back from Gold Cup to find his stuff in an old produce box on the floor and his locker nameplate changed to “Ruiz, Carlos”? Think Bianca would like Dallas? And most important, does Dallas have In-N-Out burgers?

No, Dallas does not have in-and-out burger. :)

Landon Donovan is not for sale. Someone I know e-mailed Alexi Lalas directly and asked him. Alexi always personally responds - and he said no.

And just my own personal opinion - that would be the dumbest thing the Galaxy has ever done if they were to trade LD for Carlos Ruiz. Has anyone been watching the gold cup and how those two players are playing?

Shep Messing is a mess and he's just trying to stir up something just so people will listen to him squawk.

I wouldn't be suprised, but he is such a "home body". I'm not sure if he would go anywhere? I bet he would only be allowed to go to New York or somewhere in California such that his wife can continue to pursue her modeling acting career.
