Mark, I apologize for drunken fans being rude to you. I’m sure you’ll agree that drunken fans are anywhere and everywhere. As far as your particular situation goes, did you immediately contact HDC security? I assure you that AEG, the LA Galaxy, and the HDC take those sorts of things very seriously. The HDC does a lot to ensure fan safety, which is why you’ll see 2 LA County Sheriff deputies often posted above Section 138.

Again, I’m not necessarily validating what happened in the video, but let’s not blame a group that ALWAYS shows up, ALWAYS cheers, and ALWAYS supports the TEAM. Maybe you need a different outlet to espouse your apparent bitterness or anger towards them. Or maybe you need to just relax, realize that people can be jagoffs, and enjoy our #1 seeding and our first playoffs since 2005.

Mark V..them are fighting words..first the “got my back” was a reference to an earlier post that apparently you didnt read or forgot about because you were so worried about everyone hearing and agreeing with your point of view. And secondly as a female I like someone having my back you judgemental douche bag! (sweet, I think colin is behind me again). And thirdly Mark, this blog is for galaxy fans and those that support the galaxy, you need to take colins invite and go someplace else and vent your poison.

You’re right, I’ll give most of the riot squad the benefit of the doubt. The fact that the sucker-puncher high-tailed it into the riot squad, is, I guess not their fault. However, the few members of the riot squad that I have, dealt with (Drunken idiots who knocked me over while holding my 1 1/2 year old son, and then proceeded to both blame and try to fight me over it) have tarnished my view of the group as a whole. I guess only a few of them are hooligan-wannabe-poseurs. However, the cheer at the end of the clip, speaks poorly for the group as a whole.
Ralphyboy, Im as true a fan as any, get your facts straight. You need someone to get your back, in a blog post? What a jagoff!

Ralphyboy, I noticed that too. It looks like the guy was sitting in Sec. 137, which is just general seating (not assigned to any particular supporters’ group).

Also, fan violence doesn’t necessarily mean that a particular “group” was involved, so let’s not make assumptions. If you’ve ever sat in the pavilion seating (especially during Giants-Dodgers)at Dodger Stadium, you’d know that.

From all of my experience as an original Galaxy fan (’96!) and some experience working within the team (intern), I’ve seen nothing but class from that organization. Individuals don’t necessarily reflect the group.

Mark, our team made the playoffs. Let’s not try to knock down a supporter’s group that shows up every game and shows up with a lot of energy. We need MORE groups like the Riot Squad, and less fans like you criticizing. Here’s an open invitation to go support Chivas USA.

for the record, mark villa, those dudes weren’t riot squaders. if you knew people in the riot squad, you would know that they don’t fight….especially over seats (the entire section is GA style seating and they like it that way). In fact, if you go to the official Riot Squad message board they are constantly promoting non-violence in the stadium. please get your facts straight. for the record, i hardly ever sit in 138 ($50 a seat is too much) so please consider this to be un-biased.
