LA Galaxy Season Preview, up on The Offside’s Main Page

Oh, almost forgot. I’ve got my LA Galaxy season preview up over on The Offside’s Main Page today. Stop by and check it out.

Here’s the first section, my recap of last year:

Here, in a nutshell, is the Galaxy ‘07 Season. (Subtitle: How NOT to run a team:)
1. Start with a Beckham DP signing.
2).Add in panicky preparations for Beckham.
3. Toss in some desperate trades and frantic signings to get ready for Beckham.
4. Throw in an insane post-Beckham schedule.
5. Sell hundreds of thousands of Beckham kits and Beckham-pack tickets around the league
6. Add Beckham.
7. Subtract Beckham — ankle injury.
8. Add angry fans of other teams who got fleeced to see Beckham not play.
9. Add Beckham, even though he’s not fit.
10. Subtract Beckham again — knee injury.
11. Add a bunch of gutsy rookies who play their hearts out for minimum wage.

Final result: A team that almost made the playoffs. Without Beckham. They fell short in the very last game of regular season.

This year we’re hoping for something better.
