LD Called Up for World Cup Qualifiers
By: jen | May 25th, 2009
Landon Donovan and the rest of the 24 man roster of the USMNT will meet in Miami beginning Tuesday, the 26th to train for upcoming qualifiers.
The men face Costa Rica in Costa Rica on Wednesday, June 3rd. Kick off is at 8pm MT (so 7pm for you West Coast folks — yup, I can do math!) and the game will be broadcast on an ESPN channel (TBD) and Galavision.
After that match the USMNT faces Honduras on Saturday, June 6th, at Soldier Field. That match will be broadcast on ESPN Classic and Galavision at 7pm CT (say it everybody: 5pm West Coast time).
Donovan may miss the Galaxy’s May 30th home game against the Kansas City Wizards, and June 6th game at Toronto FC. He will then miss the next two to three MLS games as the USMNT plays in the Confederations Cup in South Africa.
LD returns to the Galaxy either at the end of June, or at the same time Beckham returns, July 1st. The summer transfer window opens July 15th, so we’ll likely see some steady line up changes by the close of July.
Edson Buddle, please get healthy and game fit.
Alan Gordon, please get your head on the end of crosses and improve, once again, your footwork.
Jovan Kirovski, please surprise the crap out of us and have a brilliant June.
