Say What – meaning it was lifted from the AP report and posted. Lots of blogs do that. Completely legit.

This is a serious loss for the Galaxy… hopefully the rest of the guys pick it up. My question is why, after already knowing he was injured, did they allow him to play a half against Columbus a few weeks ago? Seems like it only worsened the injury…

I wish I knew, Colin. Maybe Delagarza can step in — or even Klein once Beckham returns . . .

It’s just that “basic AP wire of the story” doesn’t actually make sense.

The “AP wire” is a term that describes the Associated Press wire service. It’s not used in the sense you’re using it, to describe a specific incarnation of a news story. You could say “the basic AP story,” or even “the basic AP version of the story.” But “the basic AP wire of the story” doesn’t mean anything.

As for whether it’s “completely legit” for nonsubscribers to reproduce AP content, that’s actually a matter of major debate. I have no idea whether or not the Sports Network is an AP subscriber, but I do know that “lots of blogs” are not.
