No More Spankings, OR: Galaxy vs. Toronto Non-Preview
By: jen | September 19th, 2009
Or at least that’s the consensus after the Galaxy’s whooping by Dallas last week, losing 6-3.
Most of the analysis of last week’s game concludes that the loss is a wake up call to the Galaxy, who may have been getting too comfortable with their winning record.
So, on to hosting Toronto FC tonight. What adjustments will Arena make, if any? He conceded that if the FC Dallas match were a track meet then FC Dallas would win hands down. But it wasn’t a track meet, it was a soccer match, he said, and so there were methods to control the speed of Dallas’ attacking forwards that were not utilized.
I wonder what those methods are? And will he use them tonight?
The best news is that Edson Buddle is “probable” for tonight. I hope he can start the match in place of Kirovski and go maybe 50 to 60 minutes. I still wouldn’t mind seeing Alan Gordon in the line up either.
So with the wake up call and a week to hash out the speed issue, I’m predicting a Galaxy win tonight: 1-0. But maybe I shouldn’t do that since whenever I predict wins we get creamed.

I just got home from the game. I can’t believe that was the same team as last week! Big improvement! It was nice to see Sean Franklin out there again, although he did look a little rusty at times.

Franklin played? Birchall was in? For those of us who couldn’t watch, details please!
