Oh, Yes I Did

By: jen | November 14th, 2008

I watched the whole thing.

What, you ask?

Landon’s first day of training at Bayern Munich earlier this week.

He looks good. He and Ribery look like they’ve got a good thing going already.

More news on the Donovan/Bayern Munich front here. (Thanks to David for the heads up and link.) I hope he goes, I really do. I think he’d really be in his element. And Klinsmann is a great head coach for Landon.

We shall see.

You gave me a little shiver when you said that.

    I aim to please! :)

Really though Laurie, you should watch it. There are a few moments where they just know where each other are and they both have the finesse touch. *sigh*

Yeah, I watched it and I watched Day 2 as well. Donovan fits in great with that team. I don’t know if anyone knows, but on the 2nd day of training they had a scrimmage – first team v. second team – and LD lined up alongside Luca Toni on the first team. First team won, of course, 6-1 and LD scored 4 goals: 2 with left foot, 1 header and 1 right foot.

Much as I’d miss him playing for the Galaxy, I really hope this happens. I want to see what he can do when surrounded by a team of high-quality players. It’s the ideal situation for him: he wouldn’t be the star, just an important cog in the wheel of a great team. I bet he would shine.

I absolutely agree Nicole. And how awesome for him to have all the pieces fitting perfectly in his play. We still have yet to see his fullest potential when he has multiple world class players working with him. You get glimpses of it on the USMNT, but I believe he has so much more to offer the game than what we’ve seen.

If he goes, and I hope he does, his level of play will improve and he will bring that back to the USMNT. It is certainly bad for the Galaxy, but it solves the DP dilemma and frees up some room in the cap. Does it also mean they get an allocation? If so, that might be useful. I’m sure they’d rather keep Landy, but ce la vie.

Okay so where does one get to watch this magic moment with Ribery. Somehow I don’t believe Lando is as magical as Franck! And this is coming form a recent convert to the Landy-love ranks.
