Ooh! Look! Ante Jazic’s “Fan Forum”

The oddest things appear in my mailbox as I pursue the latest and greatest Galaxy news.
Most recent is the Ante Jazic Fan Forum. Or, if you prefer, the Ante Jazic Girlfriend Forum. Because forget that Beckham guy and whoever he’s married to. Everybody who’s anybody wants to talk about Ante and whether or not he’s attached. (Is he attached? Now I’m curious.)
Although I’m feeling a little guilty for not participating in this “fan forum,” because I like Ante, and nobody’s left a message yet. So I’m asking you to please go to the site and do your part to make Ante feel loved and wanted.
And, if you go to the right of their page, you’ll see links for separate forums for pretty much all of our Galaxy guys. Except, interestingly, David Beckham. And the site will make you nostalgic, because there are also links for Robbie Findley, Nate Jaqua, Nate Sturgis, Tyrone Marshall, Josh Gardner and Santino Quaranta.
I think this site is linked to one I wrote about earlier in the year, which seemed to be an attempt to bring the WAG culture to the US. As I wrote before, though, there’s one problem with trying to import the WAG culture, and that is the fact that the entire reason for WAGs’ existence is to spend their ballers’ money. This becomes a bit problematic in the US, where the minimum salary is less than $13,000.
Anybody seeing a US WAG Reality TV show here? I’m thinking we could call it, “How to survive as a US WAG.”
They could cram 10 lovely ladies and their men into a double-wide trailer for a crash course in poverty survival. Spam and Top Ramen could sponsor. Paul Gascoigne could do a guest spot where he gives tips on getting the best deals at thrift shops. Posh and Bianca could co-host, spending their time exuding faux sympathy for the poor unwashed and trying not to claw each others’ eyes out. And in the final episode, they’d finally have that cat fight we’ve all been waiting for.
No hair-pulling, ladies!
Oh, all right, go ahead.
Soccer in the US. Gotta love it.
Some things never change.
