Preseason Starts in Less Than Two Weeks!!

Hey! Galaxy fans! Guess what time it is?!?! It’s time to start dusting off all of your hopeful thoughts from last year!

You know. Like,

We can SO win the Cup this year!

or We CAN overcome our salary cap issues!!

or Beckham is the answer to ALL of our problems!!

or THIS year our forwards will score!!

or Hope springs eternal!!

or Zidane WILL come to MLS!! And he doesn’t speak English!! So in his first press conference, in French, he will say…

Oh. Wait. That one’s mine. Never mind.

The important news? Preseason training for the Galaxy starts February 4. That’s less than two weeks.

Are we excited? I’m excited. Tell me you’re excited.

Seriously, I’m not seeing “average” this season. The team will either explode with skill and talent, or they will flame out spectacularly.

Of course, I’d prefer “skill and talent.” Because when it comes to spectacular flamreouts? BTDT.

What I’m looking forward to the most, though, are the individual plotlines for the individual players. Who will be on the final roster, and how much will they be paid? Who will be a Mike Randolph-style breakout player? Will Ruiz be the expected scoring machine, or are his best days behind him? Will Beckham stay uninjured? How is Landon going to handle all of this?

So, yeah. Preseason’s coming. I’m excited.

Don't for get the skillful and elegant diving of Carlos Ruiz. I expect at least two players from other teams to take a swipe at him this year. He will be such an asset to the GALS.

I'm expecting the a complete and spectacular meltdown. which is buy the way, It is better to burn out than to just fade away. So bring on the Flame ladies.

I bet a beer Lando'll switch from his OCD pre-match/prePK rites of ten kisses of fingers, three on alternating wrists (between head shakes side to side) and one, two, three touch on the ground.... to fifteen per finger, four per wrist, beginning with the left one instead of the right, then three touches of the pitch follow by one on his elbow, then his knee....
  • Honestly, I'm worried about Landon. He seems so sensitive.
